Customer Reviews
Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Excellent product with exceptions
This product works excellent with both windows and XP with the Spysweeper with anti-virus current version. Upgrading is a challenge and Webroot's customer support is mostly web based with poor phone support. Overall, when the product works its fantastic! Spysweeper is top notch and I use the anti-virus as a secondary backup to my main anti-virus programs.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great lightweight product for machines w/ less memory
This products works great. Product is lightweight (does not require lots of memory or tax machine resources). For machines low on memory (< 1 GB), this product will not interfere with other applications to the extent that similar products from Symantec and McAfee do. Also, getting the 3-user edition saves money when installed on multiple machines.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Bad...very bad...
This program is horrible. It's great at finding viruses and spyware but when I try to put these intrusions into quarantine, the program freezes. I'm unable to force quit the program because somehow the program puts a lock on itself and doesn't allow me to terminate it. I can't even restart my computer. I have to do a hard reboot, completely shutdowning my computer which I hate to do out of fear of damaging my system but this is the only way to end the program after it freezes up. This program is a disaster. I don't recommend it.

Blogs | Appliweb Project

Welcome to my new project : Appliweb !

With Appliweb, I'll try to create a successfull opensource project, for a subject that I find most important: web development.

By successfull opensource project, I mean:

  - A Project with lots of (other) people involved

  - A Project  that will help people.

  - A Project I will eventually earn money with.

For this,

  - I've rent  a shared-server to an ISP: planetwork. A friend of mine (here) recommended them to me.

  - I setup a Joomla project, with blogs and comments and forums

  - I wrote some articles explaining my ideas and how to create them

It's the  first project that I didn't start by writing the code ! Others have failed, even if many people still looks into them....

Now the website is ready, I will begin to write some code (in javascript ! eechhhh).

I'm waiting to have something to show before I write about it in my favorite websites !

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

A new SDN article delves into the related commands.

The terrorists who attacked Mumbai struck the heart of city life.

The country's highest court says charging the obese for an extra seat is discriminatory. Although the ruling applies only to domestic flights, it could pave the way toward similar policies in other countries that have been grappling with the issue.
