Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It really works!!
After wondering why my computer was running turtle slow lately (and don't get me started on the frequent crashes), a friend told me to try this product. It costs about $29.99, so I decided what the heck I'll try it.

Well, I'm glad I did because I found out that my computer had 300 different types of spyware that was downloaded on my computer after an Ebay purchase from a dishonest seller.

After this spy sweeper was ran, the virusis, spyware and everything else was removed my computer was back to normal.

This is a great product!! I highly recommend it to everyone who has had computer problems.

~~Kat

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good product - But
The software works and works well - but. Marketing is painful. You get beat to death to renew with frequent "reminders" and "warnings" starting two months or more before the subscription year runs out. The "special low renewal price" gets lower the longer you wait - up to a point. I bought a new retail copy at a better price yet, but Webroot wouldn't activate it. I now use Sunbelt Counterspy that seems to work as well without the marketing and support hassle.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great product - better then Kaspersky
For $10 per license after you install you can upgrade this to AntiSpyware plus Anti-virus. I have had many spyware and very serious viruses which Kaspersky either didn't detect or didn't remove permanently that Spy Sweeper did. Even using Kasperky from an outside scan of the hard drive with another computer. There is nothing on the market better at removing stubborn pests.

The problems with Spy Sweeper are the only downside to the product. They are:

1) Over protective anti-piracy policies- I installed 2 of my 3 users licenses fine. On my 3rd user install it wouldn't take my key and said my license expired. I opened a support ticket and a day later I get a canned reply that totally disregarded all of the information I supplied in the ticket including my license key with issues. I had to call on the phone and wait about 45 minutes to get them to issue me a new key. Which probably means someone was using a key generator and got my key, But that is not my problem. I pay so I don't have to have problems. I mean really do they think that people who pirate software are actually buying their product when they can't us it? No they just go to the next product that will be pirated. Not to mention most people that pirate do it cause they don't have the money for the product in the first place. Usually broke teenagers and early 20 somethings.

Once on the phone the support guy said the system tracks how many times you install. Truthfully this was only my 3rd install and there is no possibility anyone got the key from me.

2) Lots of options that could screw your computer up. Don't turn on the Key log Shield or it will freeze up Yahoo messenger and other programs. Don't add any more shields then the default or you WILL have problems.

3) My wife's cousin had the AT&T DSL browser and it would delete the executable every time she installed. I couldn't find a way to stop Spy Sweeper from doing that either (no exception areas to say don't touch this file or application).

4) Doesn't work well with Kaspersky - You have to setup Kaspersy exception rules for Spysweeper.exe and SpysweeperUI files otherwise Spy sweeper will never update. Even then still had problems so I decided to go with their anti-virus. I wouldn't install Spy Sweeper on my computer because of that fact.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - - Spysweeper really saved me a headache.
No matter where you are with your PC, whether its brand new or a few years old get this if your using the internet.I had been previously dealing with spyware, viruses and other nasty stuff until I got Spysweeper. I used Mcaffe, Adaware, Spy Bot and a couple others. None of them could clean my system or find the root problem.I would still have a Utillities program to use and maybe another Antivirus program but for the hardcore stuff Spysweeper is the best. Thanks Spysweeper, A happy customer.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Unsatisfied Customer - Version 5.0.5
I bought the software some months ago. Noticed some problems with my PC in subsequent weeks. Didn't put 2 and 2 together. Last week however, I'd come home - no icons on screen - no ability to Ctrl-Alt_Del - each day this would happen. The machine had to be powered on and off to reboot. Pulled recent software off machine. Yes - you've guessed - without Spy Sweeper I have no problems. OK - it might be a conflict with other software - a quick Google confirmed my suspicions that others have problems. I was never impressed that it was picking up anything of substance either - but then maybe my machine is clean.

Remember when those two satellites collided the other day? Seems that they'll be the space junk gift that keeps on giving, as their 800-km debris orbiting field could hamper all future space launches.

"Future launches will have to be adjusted with regard to the fact that the debris [from the collision] has spread over an 800-km area and will gather at a common orbit in 5-6 years," said Alexander Stepanov, director of the Pulkovo Observatory in St. Petersburg.

According to NASA this massive cloud of human failure joins the 19,000 other objects that currently pollute the low and high orbit space around the planet. As we reported last week, the Hubble Space Telescope is already in danger.

On a related note, anyone who criticized the Pixar movie Wall-E for "liberal bias" or for "unfairly" depicting future humans as slovenly creatures that polluted Earth and space to the point where it was uninhabitable is a dufus. And so ends my personal rant for the day. [Space Fellowship]

The W3C Multimodal Interaction working group has posted the finished recommendation of EMMA: Extensible MultiModal Annotation markup language. According to the abstract, this spec "provides details of an XML markup language for containing and annotating the interpretation of user input. Examples of interpretation of user input are a transcription into words of a raw signal, for instance derived from speech, pen or keystroke input, a set of attribute/value pairs describing their meaning, or a set of attribute/value pairs describing a gesture. The interpretation of the user's input is expected to be generated by signal interpretation processes, such as speech and ink recognition, semantic interpreters, and other types of processors for use by components that act on the user's inputs such as interaction managers."
