Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - It doesn't install on my Windows Vista computer
It requires Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable 2005 that will not load on my computer.
Sony says it's not their fault, contact Microsoft Help and Support. They neither help nor support.
Sony says they would refund my money if I bought directly from them, but because I bought from Amazon, I'm on my own.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - This is more like it!
I was almost ready to give up my efforts of editing my video clips from my DVD HandyCam... I had been trying to use another company's program (a popular one that costs alot more) & I thought that the task may be beyond my limits, I was getting nowhere.
I bought Sony Vegas Movie Studio as a last ditch effort, and it was worth it! Unlike the other program, I didn't need a large patch to run it on Windows Vista, the performance is much better, and it is SO much easier to use.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - hard to handle
This is a top of the line product for video editing but not for a beginner. I have become very adept at using windows movie maker and thought that I was ready to move to a more complicated and advanced software but was blown away when I attempted this product. I am still working on learning to use it but that requires a lot of reading in the manual (online or in the book provided). Still a top of the line video software system but beware if you are not used to this type of program, it takes work getting used to.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Movie Studio Great:: DVD Architect Bad
I had worked with Sony Vegas Movie Studio + DVD before on Windows XP platform and loved the program. I moved up to Windows Visa on a new computer and have Vegas Movie Studio 8+DVD that claims to work on Windows Visa. The Vegas Movie Studio works perfectly and I continue to love the program but DVD Architect doesn't work on Windows Vista, so I contacted Sony Software and they say I need a new DVD Architect (not what was printed on the combined box.) To purchase an updated DVD Architect program cost almost as much as the combined Vegas Movie Studio+DVD. At present, I'm making the movies in Sony Vegas & burning the DVDs in Roxio and will probably convert to a different in the future.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Easy to Use and Definitely Fits the Purpose
This was such a big step up from Windows Movie Maker that it's unfair to Vegas Movie Studio to mention them together. Love the program and will continue using it for a while to come.

Blogs | Appliweb Project

Welcome to my new project : Appliweb !

With Appliweb, I'll try to create a successfull opensource project, for a subject that I find most important: web development.

By successfull opensource project, I mean:

  - A Project with lots of (other) people involved

  - A Project  that will help people.

  - A Project I will eventually earn money with.

For this,

  - I've rent  a shared-server to an ISP: planetwork. A friend of mine (here) recommended them to me.

  - I setup a Joomla project, with blogs and comments and forums

  - I wrote some articles explaining my ideas and how to create them

It's the  first project that I didn't start by writing the code ! Others have failed, even if many people still looks into them....

Now the website is ready, I will begin to write some code (in javascript ! eechhhh).

I'm waiting to have something to show before I write about it in my favorite websites !

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

A new SDN article delves into the related commands.

The country's highest court says charging the obese for an extra seat is discriminatory. Although the ruling applies only to domestic flights, it could pave the way toward similar policies in other countries that have been grappling with the issue.
