Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Fun expansion
Welcome to apartment living. If you thought free time and seasons were different, now your sims can live in an apartment complete with noisy and nosey neighbors. I find the addition of 'apartments' to be both welcome and frustrating. Welcome in the sense that I would love the opportunity to see all of my sims living closer together. Frustrating because now your sims have neighbors who will complain if you have dirty dishes in your own house! Umm okay maxis.

Pro's

Some great new clothing for both women and guys this time. New trendy clothes are always great.

Witches: its about time. I like the idea of having my own Harry Potter clone in my neighborhood and witches/warlocks and magic just adds a whole new dimension of fun.

Reputation: also a sort of neat feature.

Con's

The hairs were not well done. They still look really blocky, and the addition of new hairs with just different colored barretts is not a new style. Its just the same hair, with a re-colored barrett.

Men still need better hair. There is a serious lack of items for men in the expansions. The fan community still does better in this area- EA: please consider making an 'all male' stuff pack.

Apartments are great, but- the neighbor complaints at time are out of control. Complaining about your dirty dishes? Complaining about noises? My one sim could not rest, because of a steady stream of neighbor complaints. One or two complaints is cute. Contstant complaints? Meh, not so much.

Inability to make apartments? I was sort of bummed I couldn't make my own apartment building. I so want a sims 2 penthouse with all the trimmings. Unfortunately, you can't make them yourself without a lot of hassle. Why Maxis?

Inability to customize structure of apartments. While I understand the concept, not being able to have a bathtub in my downstairs bathroom was just inconvenient. I wanted to be able to do a bit of remodelling. Sims should be able to remodel with the landlord's consent.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I HAVE ALL 17 games (expect deluxe)

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - DUMB
I think this game is so very DUMB!!! So do NOT buy it. And I'm talking to you teenagers. I have my eyes on you!!!!!!!!

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Love the game hate the invasive spyware installed with it!
I have been a fan of The Sims since the original version came out all those years ago. I have bought every single expansion pack and stuff pack for The Sims and The Sims2....but low and behold I find out that EA has decided to install SecuRom/DRM on their games now.
I don't want that installed on my computer and didn't ask for it but to play the game you get it.

BUYER BEWARE>>>RESEARCH SecuROM BEFORE you purchase any games by EA!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sims 2
It was in great shape. It also is so much fun and enjoyable. Finally I do not have to struggle to make my own apartment......

Blogs | Appliweb Project

Welcome to my new project : Appliweb !

With Appliweb, I'll try to create a successfull opensource project, for a subject that I find most important: web development.

By successfull opensource project, I mean:

  - A Project with lots of (other) people involved

  - A Project  that will help people.

  - A Project I will eventually earn money with.

For this,

  - I've rent  a shared-server to an ISP: planetwork. A friend of mine (here) recommended them to me.

  - I setup a Joomla project, with blogs and comments and forums

  - I wrote some articles explaining my ideas and how to create them

It's the  first project that I didn't start by writing the code ! Others have failed, even if many people still looks into them....

Now the website is ready, I will begin to write some code (in javascript ! eechhhh).

I'm waiting to have something to show before I write about it in my favorite websites !

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

A new SDN article delves into the related commands.

The terrorists who attacked Mumbai struck the heart of city life.

The country's highest court says charging the obese for an extra seat is discriminatory. Although the ruling applies only to domestic flights, it could pave the way toward similar policies in other countries that have been grappling with the issue.
