Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Practice for Kids!
This program is fun and challenging with different levels to master. My son has some fine motor skill issues and needs to learn typing in his computer classes at school. He was struggling last year, but has been practicing over the summer and just got his first A in a type to learn program for his computer grade. His younger sisters are also learning where the letters are located on the keyboard by playing some of the beginning games that help you get familiar with their location. I'm very pleased with this product!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - SB sqpts Typing
The other reviews helped me decide. This was a gift and other then thanks when I gave it, I have not heard anything.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good product, Self-learning
Recommended by son's Computer Teacher. Son turned 7 this summer, and used program. Taught himself how to type with hardly any assistance from us. Keeps their interest with games/skills. Motivates kids to 'get to the next level'. A little challenging at first to figure out format, but once you get rolling, they can use themselves.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Not Compatible with Mac OS X Leopard!
Despite being billed as "SpongeBob Typing 2008," this version has NOT been updated to work with Macintosh OS X beyond version 10.3. It will NOT run on 10.5 Leopard.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good learning tool
My 8 yr. old wanted to learn to type as fast as I could so I bought her this cd-rom since she loves Sponge Bob. She has already started typing reports for school on the computer so I thought this would be a good teaching tool. The games on it are clever in that it gets them to figure out where all the letters are on the key pad in a timely manner and even times them to get them to beat their previous time. She thought some of the games were a little difficult but, she still likes it. It hasn't held her attention the way I thought it would but, I am still glad I bought it. Telling her to practice typing with Sponge Bob is still easier than getting her to practice piano. Plus, she'll be way ahead of other kids in this area. Heck, I didn't take typing until I was in high school!

Blogs | Appliweb Project

Welcome to my new project : Appliweb !

With Appliweb, I'll try to create a successfull opensource project, for a subject that I find most important: web development.

By successfull opensource project, I mean:

  - A Project with lots of (other) people involved

  - A Project  that will help people.

  - A Project I will eventually earn money with.

For this,

  - I've rent  a shared-server to an ISP: planetwork. A friend of mine (here) recommended them to me.

  - I setup a Joomla project, with blogs and comments and forums

  - I wrote some articles explaining my ideas and how to create them

It's the  first project that I didn't start by writing the code ! Others have failed, even if many people still looks into them....

Now the website is ready, I will begin to write some code (in javascript ! eechhhh).

I'm waiting to have something to show before I write about it in my favorite websites !

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?

A new SDN article delves into the related commands.

The country's highest court says charging the obese for an extra seat is discriminatory. Although the ruling applies only to domestic flights, it could pave the way toward similar policies in other countries that have been grappling with the issue.
