Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Beautifull TV
I have now had a month to view this TV and I must say I have no complaints. First, the delivery was flawless. The shipping company was on time, unpacked the TV, placed it on my stand and even took away the packaging. The viewing experience has to be experienced to be believed. I have an extensive DVD collection and also a smaller Blu Ray collection so I tried a good sample of both to get a feel for the quality of the display.
The Blu Ray disks are absolutely gorgeous. The Blue Planet disk showed the blue color as well as my old Sony. I always thought that Sony did the best job with color accuracy especially the blues but I must say this set matched Sony if not exceeded it.

I am very pleased with this plasma especially considering the reasonable price.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Good TV for the price
Pros: Good picture, lots of inputs. Works well with my PC (DVI to HDMI cable). Cons: Gets a little hot. Menu kinda sucks. When you turn on the TV it doesn't go to the active input. You have to scroll with the remote everytime. Sound is ok, but i never expect too much from TV speakers. For the price this is a better choice than a Panasonic, imo. I've had it for 3 months now. Amazon white glove delivery was great.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Amazing tv
Ive had this tv for a couple of weeks now and I am extremly satisfied. The color is amazing, and the blacks are deep and rich. And for the price you wont find anything comparable. I did a lot of research before this purchase and everything I read pointed me towards this tv. CNET.com is a great site to do your research on. If your concerned about the red tint on the border of the tv, dont be. It doesnt light up or anything (I thought it did) and it is hardly noticeable. Dont let that sway you one way or another.
The price on amazon is, as usual one of the cheapest around. There was one other site that was less expensive but I never dealt with that web site before and shipping was extra. When I purchased this tv from amazon it was only about [...]bucks more and the shipping was included. Also the shipping was white glove into my living room and actually arrived a day earlier then they promised! They did call me ahead of time to make sure it was okay they delivered early and of course I said yes.
5 Star product, with 5 star delivery.
If you want more information on the performance of the tv I'd advise you to check out cnet.com and do a search for the pn50a650. They also have a comparison between the Samsung and the Panasonic. Samsung wins by a mile.
Good luck and enjoy.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Samsung 50 inch Plasma with Touch of Red
The TV is beautiful. I got it just in time for football season. The delivery people blew off our appointment and I didn't get the Plasma until a week later.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - SUPER $$ & AWESOME HDTV!!
I recently had our projection TV stop working. After 7+ years of fantastic viewing (or so I thought), it was time to step up to a HDTV. After researching for almost 2 weeks PRIOR to purchasing a new HDTV, I began narrowing down my choices by using [...]. After comparing makes & options, I was able to bring it down to simply pricing. Lastly, I stumbled across a site ([...]) and ALL roads lead to Amazon. Sure, a few went to E-Pay & a few unknown vendors, but name recognition and the awesome financing deal was something I couldn't pass up. The FINAL PRICE was almost [...] cheaper than our local Best Buy/CC stores and with the 24 month/0 interest financing it was a steal! I'm really looking forward to purchasing a 60" Kuro in the next few years but for now, our family & friends are more than awed by the picture and look of this HDTV. Plasma or LCD, you can't go wrong with this Samsung unit.
Finally, the "white glove" delivery that it came with is THE BEST!!

I hope this helps.

Mark

Speaking of Mini DisplayPort, here's another entry from Apple in the shipping hall of shame. They're shipping the five-inch Mini-DiplayPort-to-DVI adapter in a box that's bigger than the MacBook's. Check out the waste.

As Kevin notes, it might seem nitpicky, but when you compare this to how much Apple boasts on the MacBook's green packaging, it is kind of jarring:

"The new MacBook packaging is up to 41 percent smaller than the previous generation. And smaller boxes are much better for the planet. Because smaller boxes mean we can fit more boxes on each shipping pallet — up to 25 percent more. Which means more products will fit on each boat and plane. Which means fewer boats and planes are used, resulting in fewer CO2 emissions. It’s just one seemingly minor change. But it has a major positive impact on our environment."

Surely they've got a smaller box lying around somewhere. If not, we hope they transition all of their shipping boxes to a greener variation—not just to align them with Apple's own standards and goals, but to set an example for the rest of the industry. [jkOnTheRun]
