Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great features and picture quality
Purchased 2 weeks ago. Great picture and features, however the documented stand issue was evident. Could not level the set with the 4 mounting screws. Ended up using felt pads under two of the four rubber feet on the base to level the set. Given the picture quality at the current price point, I can live with the felt shims.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Sweet TV, Perfect for first time HDTV buyers
My wife and I finally decided to take the plunge and get a HDTV. We did a lot of research on consumer reports, CNET and other sites as well as visiting several stores to see what the televisions looked like in person. Our entertainment center is only big enough for a 32" TV, so that helped us decide on size, and after a ton of research, we decided that the look and picture of this Samsung was the way to go. We shopped for a while and were thinking of waiting until Black Friday but found the TV on Amazon for a great price + free shipping. The TV came in a whole week before the estimated delivery time, and after about 10 minutes of set up, I was watching ESPN and playing my XBOX 360. the difference between this TV and our old Emerson tube TV was striking. XBOX games looked like entirely different games. DVD's popped and were sharper than ever and by a long shot. The difference is amazing. I highly recomend this TV for anyone looking for a great picture in the 32" range.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - First Time HDTV Buyer - Samsung Is Now Brand Of Choice
This is my first HDTV purchase. I know I am a little bit late to the game but I'm finally here. I replaced an old 1995 Sony tube. I looked into Sony HDTV's but they just didn't appeal to me.

I ordered this TV and I'm amazed at the picture quality. I find myself watching move TV than I ever did. I got a DVR from my cable company and I'm pulling triggers left and right recording shows I want to watch. I am so satisfied.

The picture quality is amazing. The blacks are deep and black and whites are like brand new snow. LOL. Not sure why people are complaining about sound. I guess for those that turn the volume to full in the car and are still not satisfied might find something wrong with the audio but to me it's just right.

I'm so satisfied I just pulled the trigger on the Samsung LN40A550 HDTV for my living room.

Thanks Amazon for the great pricing and white glove service. Great purchase!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Wow
I got it for a great price and it totally beats the other televisions in theis price range. If you want an affordable hdtv this is the one to get.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - So Far, So Good
Just got the TV a few hours ago, and So Far, So Good. The few bad reviews I read mentioned issues with the stand. I had none. Looks great. Sounds great. It has the best simulated surround sound I've ever heard from a TV. It still doesn't compare to true surround sound, but this is for my bedroom so I'm not in a hurry to buy another sound system. I have cable and this thing picks up a few HD channels(Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, and maybe one or two more) without a cable box. So far, I'm happy as can be about the tv. I'll update the review if anything negative pops up. As far as the service from Amazon, it was great as usual. I got the tv for $600. It was 750 anywhere else. Free shipping. I ordered it late on a Monday night. It was delivered on Saturday at 330pm. Might have gotten it a day earlier but I always work late on Fridays. UPS shipped it to a company named CEVA in St. Louis. They called me to set up a time to deliver it, then drove over 2 hours south to drop it off.

Speaking of Mini DisplayPort, here's another entry from Apple in the shipping hall of shame. They're shipping the five-inch Mini-DiplayPort-to-DVI adapter in a box that's bigger than the MacBook's. Check out the waste.

As Kevin notes, it might seem nitpicky, but when you compare this to how much Apple boasts on the MacBook's green packaging, it is kind of jarring:

"The new MacBook packaging is up to 41 percent smaller than the previous generation. And smaller boxes are much better for the planet. Because smaller boxes mean we can fit more boxes on each shipping pallet — up to 25 percent more. Which means more products will fit on each boat and plane. Which means fewer boats and planes are used, resulting in fewer CO2 emissions. It’s just one seemingly minor change. But it has a major positive impact on our environment."

Surely they've got a smaller box lying around somewhere. If not, we hope they transition all of their shipping boxes to a greener variation—not just to align them with Apple's own standards and goals, but to set an example for the rest of the industry. [jkOnTheRun]
