Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Microsoft you CAN trust
I am actually more Age of Empires 3 like rts fan and stay loyal to non sci-fi game plots with historical settings like colonization of america, ancient periods, but bought this ROL to tri something different for strategy fix. This game has tons of stuff to build like districts and research techno in labs. Visual effects and pirotecnics are spectacular, units from ground infantry and mechanic mobils to air support planes and dirigibles.

The multiplayer requered me to download a huge patches but after i loged online there were only 30 to 40 people !!! Thats terrible. Game is highly customizible. If you are tired of routine and want to immerse into some extraordinary fantastic future world a must buy. Maps are standard type, not a huge realms like of Warcraft. But this game is fun & engrossing !!! Dont be scared of learning teck trees unique to each race.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Microsoft, It's Time To Move On
I really wanted to give this game a chance. I really did. It looked very nice visually in the screenshots released. But unfortunately there was an utter failure to deliver. The concept of one single linked city was nice. I'll give it that. However, the core mechanics of the game (units etc) were horrible. I would have to say they were even less creative than those of some of microsofts older games such as Age of Empires etc. So in addition to the game mechanics feeling clunky, they also felt outdated.

Basically, overall, the story wasn't that good, the units were uninteresting to say the least, and given the multitude of other options, and I really wish I could have had those hours back.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - review from 10 year old boy
Although I like the overall design, I have been encountering performance problems such as graphic details, the screen flashes in different sections with horizontal and vertical bars, and running problems such as the game tries to connect on the internet, although I'm not playing on the internet, so it just shuts down.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - great game, can get a little challenging
I extremely enjoyed this game and I think anyone reading this will too. the graphics are incredible, you can see every detail. i am a great lover of fantasy games and have every game from starcraft to star wars. When this came out I needed to see what it was like and now I can't stop playing it. The chalenges on campaign mode are tough even on easy, but they are fun. I love the creatures in the game and how they look on the computer. I enjoy playing this game and using all of the 3 civilizations. I definatly reccomend this game!

Amazon.com is offering a so-called Black Friday special on Eye-Fi Share:
The 2 GB Wi-Fi-enabled Secure Digital card normally runs $90; it's $65 while the sale lasts.

Given that Eye-Fi introduced a limited-time-only 4 GB "Anniversary" model that replaced the 2 GB Share version in its current line-up, and that the Anniversary model was $130 list but $100 for Costco members, it's pretty clear that the 2 GB won't re-appear, the 4 GB model will drop in price, and Amazon's acting as a clearance center.

The Eye-Fi Share lets you upload pictures over a local network to a designated computer, or upload via a Wi-Fi network for which the Eye-Fi is configured to connect over the Internet to Eye-Fi's servers, and from there to a specified photo-sharing, social-network, or photo-printing service.

I'm a fan of the Eye-Fi, although I favor the currently $130 Explore model (see my review), which comes with geotagging (via Skyhook Wireless) and adds a year of included uploading via Wayport locations (now part of AT&T).

I've heard it said by Dave Winer and many many others: if only Dean had reinvested half the money raised into the Internet, then ...

OK, so you're the Dean Campaign Chief Information Officer in August 2003. The money starts to roll in. $20 million over six months, $2-4 million per month.

What would you spend the money on?

  1. What does your monthly budget look like?
  2. What is your application and infrastructure portfolio?
  3. How much will you allocate to maintenance?
  4. You're building from scratch, so what problems do you hope to avoid through wise architecture?
  5. What are your big milestones?
  6. Who are your key vendors?

How do you spend in consonance with the campaign strategy?

  1. How will you use the Internet to bring offline voters into the campaign at the same numbers as radio or television broadcasts?
  2. What is your online strategy for responding to attack ads and opposition pundits in radio, television and print?
  3. Online community takes time to build and is very hard to organize geographically. What will you do to match the state-by-state primary schedule?
  4. What can you do with online services to serve the campaign in caucus states?
  5. You are preparing for Bush to launch in Spring 2004. What are your countermeasures to reach out to moderate Republicans online while the GOP uses its advanced voter email systems to barrage 200 million validated email addresses?
  6. How will you lower the cost-per-vote vs. the GOP?
